Love these images from MAC's upcoming summer collection. No doubt if I have the money I will be purchasing a few items. I'm guessing this collection will be available in the UK in either May or June. The official US release date is end of May. I think we got last years Surf Baby collection before the US. Cant wait to see some swatches of these!!

Bourjois Healthy Balance Compact Powder

A bit of a random purchase for me. Saw this as I was having a look in Boots and as I suffer with an oily t-zone I'm always on the lookout for blotting powders.

Health Balance Powder claims to give a 10 hour matt radiant complexion with Asian fruit therapy to balance the skin.

I bought the lightest shade Vanille which is too dark for my snow white skin. The powder has a nice fruity smell and is easy to blend into the skin, leaving a matt but radiant finish. Sadly the oil control isn't very good. My skin started to look shiny within around 2 hours so I constantly need to blot with this. I think this cost around £8.49 which I think is on the pricey side for a drugstore brand, especially as there is no powder puff with it. I like Bourjois as a brand but I wont be repurchasing this item.

MAC Purring Tendertone

MAC Purring Tendertone is from the MAC Shop Mac Cook collection. MAC release so many collections I can barely keep up. I only bought this one item. I did originally want hot n saucy but it was sold out so I plumped for this instead.

Its crazy bright in the pot but on the lips it just adds a sheer wash of colour.

This is pretty much a tinted lipbalm. It smells and tastes like sweets. Not unpleasant but I'm not crazy about it either. I think this was priced £11.50 which is pricey for what it is but it is very comfortable to wear and makes lips feel soft after use. I think I'll get a lot of use out of it over summer when I tend to reach for a balm instead of lippy.

Revlon Lip Butters

Revlon Lip Butters are a new addition to the UK market. They've already caused quite a stir over the pond and not being able to resist the hype, I ordered a few from Boots.com to see what the fuss was about.

From left to right : sugar frosting/strawberry shortcake/cupcake/sweet tart/candy apple

Sugar frosting: very pale pink

Strawberry shortcake: light bubblegum pink

Cupcake: sheer blue pink

Sweet tart: bright cool pink

Candy apple: bright warm red

Revlon Lip Butters have a balm like texture, very comfortable to wear and provide a hint of colour to the lips. The darker shades like sweet tart and candy apple are fairly pigmented, much more so than the lighter shades. I really like these as they dont highlight dry lips nor do they dry lips out. Peach parfait is next on my purchase list.
