Latest in Beauty Editors Box

Beauty Boxes have been everywhere for the past few months and I can honestly say that I've never been tempted to buy a beauty box before. However, when I saw a preview of the Latest in Beauty Editors box on facebook I knew I had to buy one. The difference between Latest in Beauty and other boxes a la Glossybox is that you get to see the contents of the box before you buy and there is no subscription.

I've used Latest in Beauty before as you can also purchase 3 small samples for £1.50 so I knew the service was reliable. Having said that I didn't expect to receive the editors box so quickly. I purchased on Thursday and it landed on my doorstep on Saturday so big thumbs up for that!

The contents include five samples including a full sized nail polish. Priced £5.95 + £2.95 p+p

* Emma Hardie Natural Lift and Sculpt Serum 10ml (full size 30ml £44)
* AD Skin Synergy Nourishing Night Treatment 5ml (full size 50ml £40)
* Eve Lom Rescue Mask 15ml (full size 50ml £35)
* L'occitane Divine Cream 3ml (full size 50ml £67)
* Miners Nail Polish Jezebel Full Size £2.99
* Also 15% off card at Miners Cosmetics

Even thought the box sold out really quickly the products can be purchased separately so here's a brief mini review on each.

*Miners Nail Polish - Not a particularly unique shade but nevertheless I was quite impressed with the consistency. It did seem a little random to have a nail polish in an essentially skincare box but a nice addition to my nail collection.

*Eve Lom Rescue Mask - The star of the box. Really love this. My skin has never felt as soft. Must purchase.

*Emma Hardie Serum - A little goes a long way with this. A light serum that soaks into the skin super fast, leaving the skin feeling soft and plump.

*L'occitane Divine Cream - The tiniest pot of cream ever but again a little goes a long way. Another love. Blurred fine lines and didn't feel heavy.

*AD Skin Synergy Night Treatment - Not had chance to try this as yet but I've not heard of the brand before so I'm interested to see how it compares with the other samples.

Overall I'm extremely happy with the contents of this box and not surprised it was a sell out!I'll be keeping check on the Latest in Beauty facebook page to see what next months box includes!

Spring/Summer Nails

After spending the afternoon sorting out my nail polish stash, I swatched a few spring/summer nail appropriate shades.

1. China Glaze - Make Some Noise
2. China Glaze - Techno
3. OPI - Suzi Says Feng Shui
4. Miners - Jezebel
5. Max Factor - Fantasy Fire
6. Essie - Mint Candy Apple

All these were two coats bar the Fantasy Fire which needed four coats to be fully opaque. I know everyone is raving about this Clarins dupe and I had no trouble finding it in my local Boots despite the fact that its selling for twice the price on Ebay. Its a nice shade but best suited as a top coat rather than on its own.

My favourite of these it Mint Candy Apple. You cant go wrong with this shade in my opinion - suits every skin tone and applies like a dream.
