Showing extreme self restraint, I only purchased the Fleet Fast blush £18.00 (gulp) and Jaunty Eyeshadow £12.50 from the newly released Hey Sailor collection by MAC.
I don't always purchase from the limited edition collections but Hey Sailor called my name and I'm always a sucker for cute packaging *shameful*
Fleet Fast is a coral pink satin finish blush with slight shimmer. Personally I'm a big fan of the satin formula but whilst Fleet Fast is very pretty and suits my pale skin, I didn't think the pigmentation was that great. Its a nice blusher but not particularly unique or a must have in my opinion.
Jaunty is a gold beige frost finish. I love this shade as I don't own anything similar and the pigmentation of it was also a lot better than the blusher. It's probably quite a dupeable shade but it's worth a look if you're a MAC fan and don't have anything like it in your collection!
The Hey Sailor Collection is currently available on counters, online and at Selfridges and Debenhams.
Having long hair, I try to keep my tresses in fairly good condition. I keep straightening and blow drying to a minimum and haven't used a colour for a while.
However, the ends of my hair are still quite dry and damaged and having read Laura's glowing review of Redken's Anti Snap Treatment, off I went to purchase in the hope that I could somehow transform my locks.
Redken Extreme Anti Snap is a leave in hair treatment that provides heat protection, helps split ends and prevent breakage. I usually use a few pumps on damp hair before using a hairdryer, which is how I find the best way to use it. Not only does it smell delicious but my hair is noticeably softer and smoother. Probably not great for my purse as its not what I consider cheap but a bottle will probably last a few months.
After hearing loads about hair oils but never having tried one, I also picked up a trial size bottle of Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment. I've been using this on dry hair and after using the anti snap. Now I don't know how this compares to other brands but in a word this little bottle is amazing! As the oil is lightweight it doesn't weigh the hair down or make it look greasy, just really healthy and shiny. A must have!
*I bought both of these from feelunique which is generally one of the cheapest places to buy from on the net. I don't get paid to say that I just shop there all the time!*
Apart from the Revlon Lip Butters, here are a few of products I've been loving in March & April:
*Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Shade 01 - a light to medium coverage foundation that has become a staple in my make up bag. I love the coverage as it covers imperfections and evens out skin tone without looking cakey or feeling heavy. This is one of those foundations that is really 'my skin but better' and is a definite repurchase.
*Benefit Bad Gal Waterproof Mascara - somehow this has really grown on me as I was in two minds about this mascara but it lengthens lashes without looking clumpy. Being waterproof it is a bugger to remove so I'll go back to buying the original once I've used this up.
*MAC 217 Blending Brush - best brush ever! I don't make these statement often but this is such a great blending brush. Literally foolproof. It seriously requires no effort to blend eyeshadow seamlessly. *I should point out that the brush hairs are white, I just forgot to clean it before taking photos or maybe I'm just really lazy!*
*Dior Addict Lipstick 465 Singuliere - A high shine sheer bubblegum pink lipstick. My first purchase from the Dior Addict lipstick range although I have used other Dior makeup products before and generally find them really good quality, which is what you expect for the price point. I absolutely love this lipstick. Personally I find it a cross between a balm/gloss/lippy formula that feels weightless and supersoft on the lips. Just a really lovely addition to my makeup collection
*MAC Lipstick Shy Girl - a cremesheen nude pink. I must admit that even though I'm a big fan of the shade range, I'm not a lover of MAC's lipstick formula as I find them all quite drying but this is probably my go to lipstick as its so wearable and pigmented. Easy to see why its one of MAC's best selling shades.
*MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish Superb - Saving the best till last, this is my favourite new purchase. Superb is a peachy champagne nude metallic highlighter that has a soft and smooth texture. I've been wearing this nearly every day since I bought it as it adds a subtle sheen to the skin rather than a glittery finish, so its perfect for wearing during the day. Just Beautiful!
